    Come and “fika” with Membrain

    New Call-to-action

In the US, there’s a long-standing tradition of grabbing coffee with someone when you want to get to know them better, learn more about them, or share information in a warm and friendly setting. In Britain, there’s a similar social tradition called taking tea. In Sweden, we have fika. And here at Membrain, we’d like to have fika with you.

    What is fika?

If you’re Swedish, one of the loveliest things you can hear from an old friend is “Let’s get fika.” Fika is a tradition of having coffee and a treat - often a cinnamon bun - with a friend. But it’s actually more than just that.

Fika is a little more formal and specific than a coffee break in the US, and a little less formal and more spontaneous than the British tea. It’s so central to Swedish identity, that many companies build Fika breaks into their contracts with employees.

The word can be used as a noun or a verb - You can “get fika” or you can simply “fika” with a friend. It can also be a prefix, as in the word “fikabröd” which refers to the sweet treat that accompanies the fika coffee.

But when you fika in Sweden, you’re not just drinking a caffeinated beverage and eating a sweet treat. You’re taking the time to slow down, spend time with someone you care about, and learn more about each other.

    What is “Fika with Membrain?”

Membrain is a global company with its roots and headquarters in Sweden. We believe in making life more beautiful and balanced for everyone - our employees, our clients, and our partners - even as we focus on building the best sales software on the market.

We instituted the formal tradition of fika with Membrain to better support our clients and partners in making the most of our software, and to support the warm relationships we enjoy both internally and externally.

Fika with Membrain is an opportunity to take a break from the rush of your daily life, slow down, and enjoy a coffee and treat while we talk about how we can help each other. We use the time to share information about latest updates, to talk about how our clients and partners can make the most of those updates to grow their sales effectiveness, and to hear your feedback about what we’re doing well, any problems or challenges you may face, and what else we can do to support you.

What can you expect during fika with Membrain?

Well, you’ll have to bring your own coffee and treat, since Membrain’s fikas are virtual via Zoom. But we’ll bring you:

    • Facetime with members of our senior leadership team
    • News on our latest developments and upcoming feature releases
    • Tips, tricks, and insights to make the most of our features to improve your sales performance
    • Opportunities to share your feedback and ask questions, as well as to contribute to and influence the way Membrain grows and what features it offers in the future

Fika with Membrain grew out of our commitment to make a software product that doesn’t just provide features - but that actually supports the true effectiveness of your sales team. We want our partners and clients to know how to use our product to gain the most benefit. And we want to know how our product can support how they actually work - not just how we think they should work.

Change is the only constant, and that if you aren’t growing, you’re dying.

And although we can’t bring you an actual cup of coffee or sweet treat, we think you’ll find yourself energized just as much as if we had.

Who is fika with Membrain for?

Fika with Membrain is designed for our clients and partners. But anyone is welcome to attend if you’d like to hear the latest news and provide feedback on features you want to see, or simply to get to know us better - just send us an email and ask to attend the next fik with Membrain.

Does Membrain actually make changes based on feedback during fika?

As a matter of fact, yes we do. Our development roadmap is constantly updated with what we learn from you, from our other customers and partners, and what we learn about the landscape as a whole.

Recently, we added a number of capabilities on the reporting side to make it easier to forecast recurring revenues. This change was made based on a request we received during a fika. Other features we’ve recently added in response to fika feedback include:

    • The ability to see the time zones for people you’re calling before you make the call
    • A website form to capture leads from your website and integrate them directly into Membrain’s prospecting workflow
    • Functionality that makes it easier to “see across the wall” into marketing data, without having to invest in a large marketing automation system
    • Features and options to help our partners retain their clients and make their processes and methodologies stick

At Membrain, we recognize that change is the only constant, and that if you aren’t growing, you’re dying. We believe that the best growth is growth that happens in partnership with our customers and partners, and that’s why we invest senior leadership time in developing our relationships through events like fika with Membrain.

We’d love to see you at the next one. Let’s get a fika together :)
