Host Live Events, Grow Your Sales

Everything old becomes new again…

Have you heard of that saying before? I bring it up because it’s true, especially with an “old” lead generation practice which is turning into one of the hottest trends of 2018.

That’s right, live events…they’re back! Let’s talk about how you can use them to generate leads.

1. Host Multiple Small Events Around the Country

Live events don’t have to be massive, five-thousand people spectacles. You can have small, intimate gatherings at strategic places around your country or area(s) you service. You can even partner up with one of your own buyers or customers, and invite them to present side-by-side with you and invite their colleagues to attend.

2. Don’t Make it a Giant Sales Pitch

Let me get this one out of the way. The point of hosting these events is not to invite them to a half-day sales pitch. Your attendees will (quickly) lose interest, be turned off, more than likely not want to work with you, and advise others to stay away from your events as well.

3. Tag Onto Tradeshows/Association Events

Get a guest speaking spot at a tradeshow or a large association event and host a live event in your booth, offsite or after hours. This is a great way to attract large numbers of people you otherwise wouldn’t have access to.

4. Provide Value and Experience

I saved the best for last. Be sure to provide real and tangible value at your events. Give them ideas and strategies they can get excited about. You don’t have to have fifty volunteers at your helm, you don’t even need one. But to the best of your ability, try to make sure the experience at your events are comfortable, well-lit and easily accessible.
