Innovative Book Marketing Provides More Reason to Seize Opportunity

PenguinRandomHouse, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, MacMillan, St. Martin’s Press, and many other publishers are using the program to feature their new releases, bestsellers, and award-winning titles. The program was recently featured in Forbes. It is open to Indie publishers and self-published authors as well. Popular categories include Business, Memoir, Thrillers, Children’s, Self-Help, and Romance. All books are vetted by the Bedside Reading program and the hotels.

Additionally, all books in the program are featured in a display ad as part of a “gift bag giveaway of books.”  At the discretion of magazine publishers, the display ad appears in a variety of national magazines

My Story About Seizing Opportunity

For those wondering if they have the talent to write a book, the answer is, ‘you don’t know until you try.’

My experience is that I failed miserably at the first networking event I ever attended. The grave error was announcing that I’m a sales trainer. The women ran off shrieking believing that I’m highly manipulative. And the men could not stop laughing at the idea that a woman could possibly be a sales trainer. Someone kindly took me aside to say,

To build credibility you need to write a book!

I never thought of myself as an author, and had not written since college. However, my phone wasn’t ringing, so I had nothing to lose by writing. For more insight on weighing possibilities, read Do You Quickly Move Forward with Change? 

All of the awful corporate sales stories along with the lessons learned immediately came to mind. It was fortunate that I met Randy Peyser at another networking event. I hired her on the spot to represent me. The first publishing house said yes, and the book, “Nice Girls DO Get the Sale” broke many records. The book corrected the journey for Smooth Sale.
