Is School Really Worth It?

It’s that time of the year – Back to School. Whether you are headed into college or university, or maybe you are a parent and your child is going back to school, ask yourself, “Is school really worth it?”

Now don’t get me wrong, school is great and all, but what it lacks is the fundamentals of learning about financial literacy, how to build strong relationships, how to increase your income or build a business.

So tell me – if it doesn’t teach you any of that, is it really worth spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to an institution that won’t give you the basic knowledge you need to succeed?

So many parents are stuck on this idea that their child must go to school, get a degree, get a good job, and you know the rest. But, it’s 2021, and it’s been proven that not only do you not have to attend school to be successful, you can learn everything you need to know online.

You can start an entire successful online business selling products and services. You can teach yourself new skills that people will pay the big bucks for. You can replace a full-time income and triple the amount you make by selling your skills online. So why would you need a traditional or formal college education?

Some of the most expensive universities can cost around $75,000 in total.I went to college, got a five year degree, and it’s ridiculous because it isn’t worth anything to me. Now, I don’t want you to think that I’m saying school isn’t worth it in general, it is to those who want specific training for careers in finance, medicine, or law and the like.

What I am saying is that, for a lot of people, it doesn’t provide them with the skills you need to actually make money or build a life you want. Most of the time, education can accumulate more debt than your credit card and gives you a piece of paper that doesn’t have as much meaning as it used to.

For me, I didn’t go in with the right mindset or the right intentions. I went and got an accounting degree. I thought it was going to give me something useless about business but low and behold, it didn’t teach me anything about business.

Is School Really Worth It?Once I graduated, I had a tough time trying to land a job. Like most new graduates, they leave with a fancy degree but have the most difficult time finding work because it’s competitive out there and they don’t have any real experience. It’s an epidemic.

People are hungry for knowledge. They want information. The problem here is that this information is all about “How do I get a job?” and not “How do I become an entrepreneur?

The middle class in America doesn’t exist anymore. The reality is, we are taught to make our money, save it, and conserve it as much as possible. By this mindset, sooner or later, you will run out of money. This isn’t freedom.

What we need to start teaching our younger generations and even ourselves, no matter where you’re at in life, is that you need to learn how to make more money, how to increase your income, how to create multiple streams of income, how to sell, how to network and so on.

We must start teaching lessons in self-development, investing in ourselves and our skills, being the best version of ourselves, creating abundance, feeling confident and having the right growth mindset to get ahead in life. We need to remove comfort out of the equation and embrace our fears of the unknown. Open ourselves up to the possibilities that life has to offer.

The bottom line is, if you’re not reaching your full potential everyday, you are broke right now. I want you to think real hard about if a formal education is right for you. It can be right for you depending on what it is you want as a career.

But, if you’re a visionary, a big thinker, someone who loves to create, someone who wants more out of life, someone who wants passive income and to multiply their income, someone who wants to build a life that only very few people are willing to sacrifice to make happen, then I know for a fact, school will be holding you back.

If you don’t want to stress about your finances, your job, whether or not you’ll have a job the next day, or if you can keep your current home, you absolutely don’t want to put yourself in a position where you can’t enjoy your life.

Is School Really Worth It?The reality is that you can be a better person when you’re not constantly bogged down by your financial situation or getting frustrated with your partner over money or feeling like a victim to your circumstances.

Is school really worth it? It’s not if you want to live a life of freedom. It’s your choice. Decide what life you want and travel down that path. Only you can decide what is best for you.

Be great,
