Pizza Hut

Valentine’s Day might be a holiday for happy couples… but this is also the time of year when many lovers check into the heartbreak hotel. Luckily, Pizza Hut’s latest ‘Goodbye Pies’ campaign helps you deliver the bad news to your soon-to-be-ex…

In the tastiest way possible.

Pizza Hut’s Goodbye Pies

Traditionally, when companies market for Valentine’s Day, it’s always aiming for those smitten in love. This is the time of year dedicated to romance and happiness in relationships.

But relationships also come with nasty endings and baggage

And that’s the market that Pizza Hut is catering to this year.

The Goodbye Pies campaign lets scorned lovers send their Ex a personalized box of pizza with their name written on the top of the box…

And a breakup message written inside the lid.

The campaign promotes the Pizza Hut’s latest menu additions: hot honey pizza and wings.

Their tagline? Spicy news delivered sweetly.

To make the deal even sweeter… it costs you nothing to send a Goodbye Pie to your ex. To put it simply, the pizzas are free.

It might seem like a harsh (but delicious) way to end things between you and your beau…

But about 45% of individuals say it’s better to break off a troubled relationship before Valentine’s Day.

IS THERE ANY BETTER WAY TO LET SOMEONE DOWN GENTLY THAN SENDING THEM A FREE PIZZA?

The campaign is only available in Miami, New York City, and Chicago and ends right on time this Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day Marketing

They might be the first to use breakups in a viral marketing campaign, but Pizza Hut is definitely not alone when creating Valentine’s Day deals.

Earlier this year, Applebee’s announced a date night pass that gives customers over $1,500 worth of meals at the restaurant.

Pizza Hut is ahead of the game in marketing, especially when compared to its competitors.

But these Goodbye Pies take the cake.

So if you’re looking for a way to break things off before the special day, Pizza Hut’s pies might not fill the hole you left in your ex’s heart…

But it’ll definitely fill their stomach.

Be Great,
