Attract the Right Job Or Clientele:

Are You Willing to Walk Away When Necessary?

Weekends are an excellent time to contemplate where improvement will assist future endeavors. Both personally and professionally, our blog addresses the question, ‘Are you willing to walk away when necessary?’

My Story

At an early age, I learned to walk away from disrespectful people, and it became a habit in the sales arena at corporations. And although I was a producer in the sales profession, there were occasions when disrespect and a lack of values had me quickly walking out the door.

The realization quickly hit that attempting to turn around negative and even nasty people is not worth the time of day nor the potential business one might earn. Spending our time wisely to enjoy a more fruitful income is far better.

Relationship bonds develop by modeling integrity and trust, respectful conversations, and striving to benefit prospective clientele and friends. But when the experience diminishes among those in your circle(s), it’s time to walk away when necessary.

Share Lessons Learned to Empower Others

One excellent example is connecting with Lady Anita Duckworth-Bradshaw on LinkedIn,the founder of the Powerhouse Global Women organization, Powerhouse Global Awards, and Powerhouse Global Magazine. She is an accredited life coach from the coaching academy. An author of five personal development books (all on Amazon) and is an authority in capacity building and women’s development.  Lady Anita generously shares some of my corporate sales team encounters.

Signals for the time to walk:

– Sleepless nights

– Replaying the scenarios in your mind continually

– Realization of further implications, including legal jeopardy in some cases.

Time is of the essence for business, so when the above realities are loud and clear, walk away! However, in a situation with someone you know well, it’s best to have a frank conversation to clear the air and attempt to find the right solution. But if nothing concrete develops, it’s best to walk away.

While friendships may go awry after the fact, the better news is that we have time to develop bonds with those who hold similar values and who appreciate us. The equally good news is that the chaos in our minds disappears, and a good night’s sleep returns. Why does this matter? Many articles from reputable companies and people reveal that stress, however it may occur, can harm us health-wise.

Our peace of mind and sense of success depend upon our, Mind, Body, and Spirit.’

One complements the other, so we must ensure they are all in sync. Please realize you will only know that 100% if you try the suggestions, and there is nothing to lose but everything to gain!

Your Story: Willing to Walk Away When Necessary

Challenges arrive daily, whether individual or work-related. But the ones that reoccur frequently or keep you up at night require immediate attention. Admittedly, personal issues are more challenging as they need almost expert diplomacy, and even that may fail as you plan. Logic isn’t the issue here; the emotional attachment interferes with logical assessment.

If need be, consult with those you trust to avoid the spread of poor word of mouth but who will offer insights you may use to correct the situation. Nothing is ever a 100% solution, but consider the pros and cons to realize your next move that will be beneficial.

Practice and courage are sometimes at stake, but when the need arises, you become more adept. Most importantly, remaining diplomatic is of the essence to not harm your reputation or brand. Prospective clients identify the word of mouth they receive about you, and it’s essential to retain your authentic identity with trust included.

In Conclusion: Willing to Walk Away When Necessary

The weekends are perfect for finding peace of mind away from work stress and encounters with others. Contemplate how you may fix a situation(s) that bothers you and motivate yourself by reaffirming the benefits ahead. In the spirit of happiness, remind yourself of what matters most to you, your goals, and your quest for advancement to live your desired life!
