How many times have you called your bank or utility to ask a question and were transferred more than a few times? Worse yet, each time you were transferred you had to re-tell the story of why you are calling – that is, AFTER you explained who you are and often PROVED it by answering security questions. Smarter Commerce is long overdue.

I’m laughing all the way to the bank, because I link to each person’s website – good for them, and if they share it, it also shows who the curator is (me). Curation gains you visibility – I am the curator of a list of Top 50 Sales and Marketing Influencers for 2012 , which I also happen to be listed on as well.

Shoppers would actually put the name of their bank under “company”. They suspected the people got confused at this point since they might have no company to reference, or they thought it was connected to the prior question about which credit card. Clearly there was confusion. As we know, confusion always causes missed sales.

For those who think that follow up to prospective customers is a chore, I would ask if you think it is a chore to go online to your bank account and watch your money grow? Because when you love what you do, it does not seem like work, it is simple, and it can become a strength. It’s all relative, isn’t it?
