For the first four years of my software career, I was a pre-sales solution consultant, a.k.a. Meet Your Target Customers in Their Comfort Zone. And it’s a lot easier to do when we meet customers in their comfort zone instead of trying to bring them into ours. I think of demos as verbal product positioning. It was an aha moment.
